Peptac Liquid belongings to the 'reflux suppressants' group of medicines that form a protective layer on top of the stomach contents to prevent stomach acid from escaping from the stomach where it works into the food pipe causing pain and discomfort.

Ingredients

Peppermint and original flavoured liquid containing sodium alginate 250mg, sodium bicarbonate 133.5mg and calcium carbonate 80mg per 5ml

Directions

1. Adults and children over 12 years: 10-20ml after meals and at bedtime. Children 6-12 years: 5-10ml after meals and at bedtime

• Check and ensure you're not allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine before taking. This medicine contains Butyl Parahydroxybenzoate, which can cause an allergic reaction in some.
• If you're on a sodium-restricted diet, consult with your doctor or a pharmacist before taking as 10ml of this medicine contains about 6mmols of sodium.
• Tell your doctor first if you're taking any other medicines, especially ACE inhibitors, analgesics, antibiotics, antiepileptics, antifungals, antimalarials antipsychotics, bisphosphonates, lithium and penicillamine.
